temp-post-image

Today, too many of us don’t have the proper attitude to the things we have in our lives.

If you’re single you are looking in all the wrong places for a relationship. If you’re married, you think… what happened to my life. If you’re a celebrity, you have to second-guess whether to trust a new relationship. I can go on, but I will digress.

The Joy that you expect out of life, marriage, single-hood, etc. Can manifest when we begin to change our attitude towards life.

I am going to share four encouraging tips to jump start your “Joys of Life”.

Tip 1

Change Your Attitude!

Too many times circumstances in life shift our attitude towards a good place, or a not too good place. The constance in either case of your attitude adjustment is “surrounded” by the circumstance. But, if we just take a page from the passage of Phillipians 4:11-12.“Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity…”.

The passage is a simple reminder that as long as we humble ourself while we in a temporary situation. The “circumstance” cannot dictate your future. This simple change in attitude can be your time of grace, or it can be your storm. The decision is up to you.

Tip 2

Be Peaceful!

In the bible, God said, “peace, I leave with you”. Yet, to remain peaceful and continue enjoying the “Joys of Life”. One must have a positive attitude. And one must have balance. Finding your inter “peace” can shed years off of your life. Too often we live a life of “over-functioning”. This lifestyle can lead to exhaustion, bad eating habits, weight gain, agitation, etc. To combat these “over-functioning” tendency; dive deep and think about the small things that gives you peace. If peace is found in a cup of Starbucks, then buy yourself peace. If peace is found in mountain climbing, then go and climb a mountain. If peace is found in reading a good book; then find time to sit down with a novel. The goal is to be the “PEACE” that God has left for you.

Tip 3

Do it on Purpose!

To do something on purpose can be sort of a game you play that only you and God know. Real purpose; is a made up mind to continue to do something no matter what. For example, let’s revisit Tip 1, “Change Your Attitude”, or Tip 2 “Be Peaceful”. Both are decisions that a person makes and does it on purpose. This attitude does not need coercion and its not moved by circumstance. It’s a simple “Get It Done” mindset.

Tip 4

Enjoy the Party!

Don’t be a Martha! As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her (Luke 10:38-42).”

Enjoy the “Joys of Life”. Live your life on Purpose, Be Peaceful and with a fixed Attitude you will become the “life” of the party.

Until next time…
